MEET HALEY
Haley Burchett, B.A., M.A.C.P.
Registered Provisional Psychologist in Edmonton
Child, Teen & Adult Counselling
Hello! My name is Haley Burchett and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist. My education includes a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from MacEwan University. I have always been passionate about working in a career where I can help people and I am honoured to work alongside you on your wellness journey.
Therapy for Children, Teens & Adults
I am passionate about working with children, teens and young adults. I offer many areas of specialties as I have gained valuable experience supporting clients struggling with various issues, including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, stress/burnout, emotional dysregulation, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)., suicidal ideation, and self-harm.
When working with clients, I am driven by values of empathy, compassion, respect, acceptance, curiosity, and patience. I strive to support my clients using an integrative approach that is flexible and client-centered. This allows me to select evidence-based interventions best suited to your goals. Interventions may be pulled from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Everyone has unique needs and I believe in meeting my clients where they are at. We will work together to set goals and identify strategies that work best for you. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach — what works for some might not work for you, and that is okay! My process will involve exploring various aspects of your life as I believe true happiness and wellness are achieved through a balance of physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health. When working with children, I emphasize an interactive and engaging approach, drawing from play-based therapy, art therapy, positive psychology, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Seeking help can be very challenging, scary, and even frustrating at times, but I want you to know that you are not alone in this process.
A Bit About Me
In my spare time, I love painting, writing creatively, reading, golfing, travelling and exploring new places, practicing photography, and sitting out in nature. I also enjoy quality time with loved ones, including my two dogs, Archie and Atlas.
