Meet Spenser Dion
M.A.C.P., B.A., Registered Provisional Psychologist, EMDR Therapist
Welcome! I’m Spenser Dion, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist at Solace Psychology & Wellness. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology Degree through Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Psychology from Concordia University of Edmonton. I have over 9 years of experience working with children, teens, and families who face a variety of barriers to healthy living.
I am dedicated to providing a safe, supportive space where individuals can reflect, heal, and grow. My passion lies in walking alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges, build self-awareness, and discover new possibilities for change. I bring empathy, warmth, and authenticity to the therapeutic relationship, fostering trust and openness along the way. I see clients as the experts of their own lives, and my role is to listen deeply, understand their unique experiences, and support them in reaching their personal goals.
Clinical Overview
Therapy for Children, Teens, Adults & Families
I enjoy helping clients cope with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, self-esteem, and major life transitions. I am also passionate about working with parents as they navigate the parenting journey, teaching parents helpful strategies for fostering child development as well as tools for their own self-regulation and growth.
I don’t believe therapy should be a one-size fits all approach. My approach to therapy is integrative, blending different treatment modalities to create a personalized and effective experience for each client. I primarily work from a Person-Centered lens, blending in interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), mindfulness, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. When working with children, I bring in elements of Play, Sandtray and Art therapy.
I strive to foster a collaborative relationship with my clients, valuing their unique perspectives, strengths, and values. Together, we create a safe and non-judgmental space where my clients can explore their challenges and discover their own inner resources for healing and personal growth.
