best Edmonton Psychologist - Solace Psychology & Wellness

Meet Spenser Dion

M.A.C.P., B.A., Registered Provisional Psychologist, EMDR Therapist

Welcome! I’m Spenser Dion, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist at Solace Psychology & Wellness. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology Degree through Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Psychology from Concordia University of Edmonton. I have over 9 years of experience working with children, teens, and families who face a variety of barriers to healthy living.

I am dedicated to providing a safe, supportive space where individuals can reflect, heal, and grow. My passion lies in walking alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges, build self-awareness, and discover new possibilities for change. I bring empathy, warmth, and authenticity to the therapeutic relationship, fostering trust and openness along the way. I see clients as the experts of their own lives, and my role is to listen deeply, understand their unique experiences, and support them in reaching their personal goals.

Clinical Overview

I enjoy helping clients cope with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, self-esteem, and major life transitions. I am also passionate about working with parents as they navigate the parenting journey, teaching parents helpful strategies for fostering child development as well as tools for their own self-regulation and growth.

I don’t believe therapy should be a one-size fits all approach. My approach to therapy is integrative, blending different treatment modalities to create a personalized and effective experience for each client. I  primarily work from a Person-Centered lens, blending in interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), mindfulness, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. When working with children, I bring in elements of Play, Sandtray and Art therapy

I strive to foster a collaborative relationship with my clients, valuing their unique perspectives, strengths, and values. Together, we create a safe and non-judgmental space where my clients can explore their challenges and discover their own inner resources for healing and personal growth.
