THERAPY REALLY WORKS

There is plenty of research showing that therapy truly works and that the results are often equal to or exceed those of medication. The most important factor that determines peoples' success rate is the therapeutic relationship with the psychologist, also known as rapport.Â
Our Psychologists take pride in establishing a respectful and compassionate professional relationship with those that we work with. We will meet you where you are at in your struggles and will walk along side you to help you regain strength to overcome them.
When therapy is a good fit and you are provided with effective tools, you can reshape your life. You will notice positive changes within yourself and within relationship to others. Your brain becomes more healthy, too, as chemicals start changing and neuropathways are rewired.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CONSIDER THERAPY?
Just as you would go to your doctor when you are feeling physically ill, you would see your psychologist when feeling emotionally or mentally unwell. While doctors can treat general issues and prescribe medication, psychologists are specially trained in how the mind and body work together. This allows for deep, transformative healing in multiple aspects of your life.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes people seek help for guidance on regaining balance in their life or learning how to manage stress or anxiety better. Others may want to resolve past hurts and trauma. Some want to reconnect with themselves or those they love. Children often attend therapy to process fears and worries, boost their self-esteem and confidence, or learn how to regulate big emotions.Â

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
When facing personal struggles, you may feel alone, overwhelmed, and hopeless. It can be difficult to know how you got into this mess and even more difficult to figure out how to overcome it. When working with one of our Psychologists, you will be provided with a safe space to process your experiences and create an effective plan to manage your worries and persevere through your challenges. We use a person-centered approach, allowing you to get the most out of your sessions. We will work with you to discover the root of your problems, which may involve working through past trauma, loss, or other deeply emotional experiences. Getting to the core allows you to create lasting change so that negative patterns do not keep happening in your life.
In addition, you will learn practical strategies to increase feelings of self-worth, regain your strength, and attain a life worth living. People seek therapy for a variety of reasons including managing stressors, anxiety, depression, past trauma, or overall life balance.
