Meet Kathleen (Kate) Dane

M.A.C.P., B.Ed., CANADIAN CERTIFIED COUNSELLOR

Hello! I’m Kate, a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) here at Solace Psychology & Wellness. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree through Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Education degree through the University of Alberta.

I provide therapy for teens, adults, and couples, supporting them through life’s challenges with care and understanding. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client, helping individuals and couples strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and build healthier relationships. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where growth, healing, and positive change can take place.

Clinical Overview

Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling with the pressures of life, or navigating the challenges of family or workplace dynamics? I understand how isolating and stressful these experiences can be, especially when it feels like you’re carrying the weight of it all alone.

In our work together, I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to explore your emotions and challenges at your pace. I take a compassionate, client-centered approach, drawing on evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Humanistic Therapy, to help you manage anxiety, enhance emotional regulation, and reconnect with your sense of self. I aim to support you in gaining clarity, building resilience, and developing practical strategies that align with your unique needs and goals.

Adolescence and young adulthood can be overwhelming, with pressures from school, family, and social life. I support teens and young adults in managing anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem issues, academic stress, and identity development. I provide a supportive space where they can express themselves freely and develop healthy coping skills to navigate life’s challenges.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, and personal growth. Whether you’re a professional managing stress, a parent juggling responsibilities, or someone seeking to reconnect with yourself, I tailor our sessions to focus on what’s working, address what’s not, and create a meaningful path toward emotional well-being.

In couples sessions, I guide partners to deepen understanding, rebuild trust, and navigate conflict with empathy and respect. Together, we’ll uncover unhelpful patterns, enhance emotional intimacy, and develop practical communication skills. We’ll create a safe space where both of you feel heard and supported as you work toward a stronger, more fulfilling relationship.
