Vanessa Goodchild

My practice is grounded in respect, integrity, and genuine care for my clients. I have been working in the mental health industry for over a decade with childrenteens, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, stress, depressionaddiction, ADHD, life transitions, boundaries, trauma-related symptoms and other mental health concerns. Supporting parents and guardians with effective parenting strategies is a passion of mine. I also enjoy working with professionals and businesses in the realm of coping with work-related stressors, preparing to return to work and acquiring work/life balance.

I believe in utilizing an integrative approach to therapy as everyone’s life story is different. We will work together to develop effective goals to work towards and I will draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), among others. I strive to help people achieve overall life balance, in all 8 aspects of well-being.

In addition to therapy, I provide clinical supervision to Counselling Interns in the community.

DANIELLE CHARRON

I enjoy counselling youth as well as adults. When working with adults, I offer a supportive space to process your stressors and learn effective skills to reach your therapeutic goals. A large portion of my work involves helping individuals cope with work stress, anxiety, OCD, negative thinking patterns, and life changes.

In addition to helping adults, I am dedicated to providing mental health counselling to children, adolescents, and parents. I have worked with clients around issues like ADHD, anxiety, depression, oppositional or defiant behaviours, anger, emotional regulation, body image, self-esteem, and parent-child relationship issues. 

I approach therapy with curiosity, collaboration, and compassion. I believe in providing integrated and evidence-based therapy, drawing upon Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFT), Parent Management Training, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  I will also be offering psychoeducational assessments in the near future.

AMER AUJLA

I am a Registered Psychologist with 10 years of training in the mental health field. I also have a background in Occupational Therapy.

I specialize in counselling adolescents and adults, and work with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma and interpersonal issues. I use a collaborative and client-centered approach. I like to provide a safe place for individuals to explore, observe and gain insight for their own healing and growth. In my eyes, the client is the expert; my role is to help the client identify their own unique strengths and resources, in a non-judgmental manner. Alongside counselling, I am also trained in administering psychoeducational assessments. Such assessments can identify learning challenges in students of all ages, from young children to adults.

ANDREA VERA

I see every client as an expert in themselves with the potential to keep growing and achieving their personal goals at any stage of their life. Therefore, I am passionate about helping clients find their strength and potential, and work towards a healthier mental state. My focus is to find the best approach and tools based on each client’s needs in a safe and non-judgmental space, bringing empathy, compassion, and genuineness. I am fluent in both English and Spanish.

I specialize in helping people cope with anxiety, depression, and life changes. I also enjoy helping individuals achieve higher self-esteem and  confidence as well as greater overall well-being, allowing you to reach your life goals. MIKYLA CLEARY

I am a compassionate and empathic therapist who truly believes that all people have the strengths and abilities to bring about change in their own lives and are an expert in their own lived experience. I specialize in counselling children, teens and adults who experience concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, behavioural issues, emotion-regulation concerns, self-esteem, body positivity, neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder), and trauma. I enjoy working with parents and families. I also am passionate about providing therapy to couples using the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.

I strive to help clients achieve their mental health and wellness goals using Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and positive psychology approaches. My therapeutic orientation is a mix of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),  Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), well as utilizing self-compassion, mindfulness and strength-based approaches. I also love using play-based, sandplay and art-based therapy with children to help them process their experiences in a gentle manner.

I practice from a strengths-based and person-centered approach while utilizing tools from different modalities, such as Attachment-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. When working with children, I enjoy using play-based and art-based therapists to help kiddos feel comfortable and safe in therapy while helping them express their emotions and process their experiences.

As a Mental Health Therapist, I offer an empathetic, strength-based and collaborative approach when working with children and adults

I enjoy supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Motor Disorders and Learning Disorders. I provide early intervention which may include family sessions, parenting support, emotional regulation practice, psychoeducation, play therapy, and art-based play.  I also enjoy working with children and teens who are struggling with anxiety, grief, separation/divorce concerns, self-esteem, self-harm and gender identity. I create a fun and safe environment for children and adolescents filled with activities, playfulness and laughter.

When working with adults, I believe in using a collaborative and integrative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Self-Compassion and Mindfulness-Based therapy. I use a tailored approach depending on each client's goals and concerns. I work with a variety of concerns, with specific interests including depression, anxiety, burnout, suicidal ideation, self-esteem and trauma-related concerns.

Over the years, I’ve gained invaluable experience working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities. I specialize in the areas of trauma- and stressor- related disordersanxiety disorders, and depressive disorders. I also enjoy providing psychoeducation and teaching valuable tools for emotion regulation and stress management. I have recently pursued my passion for perinatal mental health to support those who are experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) throughout and following pregnancy, and into the early years of parenting. As I have 2 little ones myself, I acknowledge the importance of a work-life balance while managing my own mental health and looking after my family. 

Modalities I apply in my practice consist of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFT), and Attachment-Based Therapy. I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR),  Mindfulness-Based TherapyDialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Play Therapy. 

BROOKE GREENWOOD

I enjoy helping adolescents and adults learn how to cope with anxiety, stressdepression, trauma/PTSD, and life changes. I also enjoy working with people who are struggling with ADHD, emotional dysregulation, body image issues, disordered eating,  substance abuse, gender identity, suicidal ideation, and relationship concerns. A large part of my work involves improving self-esteem, self-compassion and confidence in oneself.

I believe that therapy isn’t a one size fits all approach. My practice is integrative, meaning I draw upon multiple therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Self-Compassion, and aspects of Animal/Nature Assisted Interventions. Therapy allows people to truly heal from their past trauma and feel empowered to take charge of their present and future life. I feel privileged to hold space with my clients, where they invite me to listen to their life stories, share laughter, learn about their greatest fears, and help them achieve their goals as I walk alongside them in their healing journey. 

SAMANTHA NAIDU

I have worked with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Most recently, I have been working with high-risk youth and adults dealing with addiction and mental health concerns who have different learning, behavioral, cognitive, and socio-emotional challenges, including ADHD, anxiety, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I also enjoy helping people learn how to cope with  depression, trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, and various life stressors. I have a firm understanding of providing empathy, compassion, and patience with my clients. My work and education experience has allowed me to further develop my therapeutic skills.

I believe in building a strong relationship with each client that is founded on mutual respect and trust. I strive to provide clients with a comfortable and non-judgmental space to help them develop the tools they need to cope with the challenges in their lives. Since every individual is unique, I use a person-centered approach. I draw from a variety of approaches to create an individualized experience that will fit a client’s needs. Therapeutic approaches can include Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFT) or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

For over 5 years, I have been working in pediatric mental health wearing different professional hats as both a Mental Health Therapist and an Occupational Therapist.  

I specialize in working with young children (0-7) in the toddler, preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary stages. Common concerns that I support include anxiety, autism, selective mutism, ADHD, emotional regulation, anger, oppositional or defiant behaviors (ODD), FASD, developmental delays, and parent child relationship issues. I also enjoy collaborating with parents and families to collectively explore the best supports for their child.

I approach treatment holistically and incorporate knowledge of a child’s psychological, social, emotional, and physical development alongside external factors such as home, school, and daycare life. The modalities I utilize have foundations in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Attachment-Based Therapy and parent-management training. These modalities will be appropriately adapted according to your young child’s stage in development.

Hello! My name is Melissa. I am currently attending the University of Alberta where I am completing a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. For my honours thesis, I am studying the relationship between meaning in life, forgiveness, emotion regulation, and psychosocial adjustment. My favourite topics in psychology are abnormal psychology, personality psychology, and child psychology. After completing my undergraduate degree, I intend to pursue graduate studies and a career in counseling psychology. I am an emphatic and supportive listener to my family and friends, and I hope to one day use these skills to help others!

Outside of school, I enjoy figure skating and I also teach introductory skating to children and adults. I love spending time with my family and watching movies with friends. Whenever the weather is nice, I also like to take my dog Mochi out for walks to let him run around and burn all his energy!
