MEET KATHLEEN (KATE)
Kathleen Dane, M.A.C.P., B.Ed.
Canadian Certified Counsellor
Teen & Adult Therapist
Hello! I'm Kathleen Dane, a Canadian Certified Counsellor here at Solace Psychology & Wellness. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree through Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Education degree through the University of Alberta.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling with the pressures of life, or navigating the challenges of family or workplace dynamics? I understand how isolating and stressful these experiences can be, especially when it feels like you’re carrying the weight of it all alone.
In our work together, I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to explore your emotions and challenges at your pace. I take a compassionate, client-centered approach, drawing on evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to help you manage anxiety, enhance emotional regulation, and reconnect with your sense of self. I aim to support you in gaining clarity, building resilience, and developing practical strategies that align with your unique needs and goals.
"Stay calm, be brave, and watch for the signs." – Thomas King
Therapy for Teens & Young Adults
Adolescence and young adulthood can be overwhelming, with pressures from school, family, and social life. I support teens and young adults in managing anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem issues, academic stress, and identity development. I provide a supportive space where they can express themselves freely and develop healthy coping skills to navigate life’s challenges.
Therapy for Adults
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, and personal growth. Whether you're a professional managing stress, a parent juggling responsibilities, or someone seeking to reconnect with yourself, I tailor our sessions to focus on what’s working, address what’s not, and create a meaningful path toward emotional well-being.
A Bit About Me
Outside of therapy, I love spending time with family and friends, enjoying the lake, and being on the water. I believe in the importance of balance, and I strive to integrate mindfulness, humor, and a strengths-based perspective into my personal and professional life.
